Hyderabad: The eighth Green India Challenge (GIC) started with much excitement. Santosh Kumar, the initiative’s founder and former MP, planted saplings on Keesaragutta to kick off this year’s efforts for the environment.

Santosh Kumar stated that he aims to continue the Green India Challenge throughout his life. He emphasized the importance of this initiative and encouraged everyone to join in.

The event took place at the Sri Ramalingeshwara Swamy temple on Keesaragutta. Santosh Kumar and former Minister Mallareddy began the day with prayers and received blessings from the temple priests. After the ceremonies, they planted saplings on Keesaragutta, officially starting the eighth edition. They also revealed the new logo for this year. Inspired by BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, Santosh Kumar reaffirmed his dedication to the cause. He mentioned adopting the Keesara forest with plans to enhance it. Over the last seven years, more than 20 crore saplings have been planted, thanks to widespread support and blessings.
