In Gadwal, a special event took place today at the Old DM&HO Office as part of the Swasth Nari Sashakt Pariwar Abhiyan. During this event, nutrition kits were provided to those affected by tuberculosis (TB).
The program was led by Dr. S.K. Siddappa, the District Medical and Health Officer, along with Dr. Sandhya Kiran Mayi, the NCD Program Officer, and Dr. G. Raju, the TB Program Officer. ANM Jyothi from Burdpet village distributed the nutrition kits to the TB patients.
Dr. S.K. Siddappa emphasized that nutritional support is essential alongside medical treatment for TB patients. He noted that good nutrition helps the body recover and fight the disease. “Many TB patients are from poor backgrounds. It’s important to find these individuals and provide them with monthly nutrition kits during their six-month treatment,” he explained.
He also called on local philanthropists and donors to help by adopting TB patients, thus contributing to the battle against the disease.
The event included participation from Dr. Madhurya, NTEP staff, TB Nodal Person Mr. Hanumantu, ASHA workers, and other health officials. They all pledged their dedication to effectively carrying out TB eradication efforts in the district.
