Telangana breaks new ground by launching India’s first Youth Climate Action & Innovation Centre in Hyderabad. The state government partnered with 1M1B (One Million for One Billion), a United Nations-accredited foundation, to create this groundbreaking facility.

The new facility operates under the Chief Minister’s SPEED framework, which focuses on smart and efficient delivery. It forms a key part of the Telangana Rising Net Zero Mission, designed to combat climate change through innovative solutions.

Training over 100,000 young people in green and climate skills stands as the center’s primary goal. The facility will also link 1,000 startups and businesses with skilled workers and generate 10,000 virtual and remote job opportunities.

Jayesh Ranjan, who serves as Special Chief Secretary and CEO of SPEED, explained the project’s vision. He emphasized how the initiative brings together youth, industry, and innovation to drive sustainable growth. The center will blend artificial intelligence, green skills, and entrepreneurship to develop climate leaders for the future.

Manav Subodh, who founded 1M1B, described the partnership as a youth-powered climate movement. He believes the center will transform young innovators into leaders who will guide India’s Net Zero journey.

The facility includes four main sections designed for maximum impact. The AI & Sustainability Experience Zones will provide hands-on learning opportunities. An AI & Green Talent Accelerator will fast-track skill development programs.

The WorkX Innovation & Impact Studio will serve as a creative workspace for climate solutions. A Global Connect & Virtual Hub will link participants with international networks spanning Geneva and Silicon Valley.

1M1B’s worldwide connections will provide mentorship and training opportunities for center participants. This global reach ensures that Telangana’s youth can access world-class resources and expertise.

The project specifically targets women and rural communities across all districts. This inclusive approach ensures that climate action benefits reach every corner of the state.

Telangana Rising 2047 provides the framework for this ambitious initiative. The center reinforces the state’s position as a national leader in climate innovation and sustainable development.

This partnership marks a significant milestone in India’s climate action efforts. By focusing on youth empowerment and innovation, Telangana sets an example for other states to follow in the fight against climate change.
