The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has introduced a new online Block Request system to help citizens resolve long-pending issues related to Property Tax Identification Number (PTIN) and Trade Licenses without visiting municipal offices.
The digital initiative allows residents to address various problems including duplicate assessments, ownership disputes, demolished structures, incorrect entries, business closures, and relocation issues through a streamlined online process.
Citizens can now submit all required documents digitally and track their requests in real-time. The system provides an Acknowledgement ID instantly upon submission, ensuring complete transparency throughout the resolution process.
To access the new service, citizens need to visit ghmc.gov.in and navigate to the Online Services section. Two primary options are available: Assessment Blocking (PTIN) and Trade License Blocking.
The Assessment Blocking service addresses issues related to property tax assessments. Property owners facing problems with duplicate entries, ownership changes, or demolished buildings can now request corrections through the online portal.
The Trade License Blocking option caters to business owners dealing with license-related complications. Establishments that have closed, relocated, or need corrections in their license details can submit block requests digitally.
This initiative eliminates the need for multiple office visits and reduces paperwork significantly. The online tracking feature allows applicants to monitor their request status at every stage, bringing accountability to the system.
The new system represents GHMC’s commitment to smart governance and citizen-friendly service delivery. By digitizing these essential services, the municipal corporation aims to maintain cleaner records and provide faster resolution to public grievances.
The online Block Request system is part of the civic body’s broader digital transformation strategy to make municipal services more accessible and efficient for Hyderabad’s residents and business community.
The platform is designed to handle various scenarios that previously required personal visits to municipal offices, long waiting periods, and extensive documentation procedures. The digital approach promises quicker turnaround times and reduced administrative burden on both citizens and municipal staff.
