A joint operation conducted by M-FAST, SOT LB Nagar, and Hayathnagar Police resulted in the seizure of approximately 730 kg of suspected adulterated ginger-garlic paste from a manufacturing unit in Hayathnagar. The raid exposed serious violations in food safety standards and raised concerns about the quality of food products being distributed in the market. Authorities took swift action after receiving credible information about the illegal operations at the facility.
During the inspection, officials discovered that the manufacturing unit was operating under extremely unhygienic conditions. The facility lacked proper sanitation measures and failed to meet basic food safety requirements. Investigators found evidence of suspicious substances being used in the production process, including an unidentified solution and food colour, which were also confiscated from the premises. These materials are suspected to have been mixed with the ginger-garlic paste to alter its appearance and possibly extend its shelf life.
Law enforcement authorities apprehended one person in connection with the illegal operation. A formal case has been registered at Hayathnagar Police Station against the accused. The seized materials, including the adulterated paste and suspicious chemicals, have been sent for laboratory analysis to determine the exact nature and composition of the adulterants used in the manufacturing process.
Further investigation is currently underway to identify other individuals involved in the operation and to trace the distribution network of the adulterated product. Authorities are working to determine how long the unit had been operational and the extent of contaminated products that may have already reached consumers in the market. The samples collected during the raid will undergo detailed forensic examination to establish the health risks posed by the adulterated ginger-garlic paste.
