Telangana Power Generation Corporation Limited (TGGENCO) has placed Sri B. Suresh, Chief Engineer [I/C] of YTPS (Construction) Stage-I, under suspension with immediate effect. The suspension will remain in force pending a departmental enquiry. The order was issued from Vidyut Soudha, Hyderabad, on 14.10.2026.
The action follows regular reviews of the generation performance of YTPS (Construction) [5x800MW] at Dameracherla. These reviews have been held for the past two months. They are supervised by the Chairman & Managing Director, the Director (Thermal & Projects) and the Executive Director (Thermal) of TGGENCO.
The stated aim of the reviews is to generate quality power at full load capacity and to improve the performance standards of the Units of Stage-I. The Special Chief Secretary to Government, Energy Department, along with TGGENCO officials, has also monitored the project continuously for the last 15 days.
According to the order, during the review meeting held at 09:00 Hrs on 14.10.2026, Sri B. Suresh was found to have shown “gross negligence towards duty”. The order also notes supervisory lapses in his role as Chief Engineer. These relate to the planning, monitoring and execution of prioritized works meant to improve power generation.
The order states that the alleged acts amount to gross misconduct under Regulations 4(xxx), (xLii) and (xLiii) of the APSEB (Revised) Conduct Regulations. These are read with Regulation 6(i), (xx) and (xL) of the APSEB Employees Discipline & Appeal Regulations, as adopted.
The suspension was issued under Regulation 11(a)(i) of the APSEB Employees Discipline & Appeal Regulations, as adopted by TGGENCO, with the consent of the competent authority. During suspension, he will receive a subsistence allowance under Regulation 56(1)(a) of the APSEB Service Regulations, Part-I, as adopted. This is subject to a certificate of non-employment elsewhere, to be submitted every month to the Chairman & Managing Director.
His headquarters during the suspension period will be YTPS (Construction), Dameracherla. He may not leave the headquarters without prior permission from the competent authority.
