Gadwal:

Agriculture Extension Officers (AEOs) in Aiza mandal wore black badges in protest. This was part of a state-wide demonstration to express their concerns about the central government’s Digital Crop Survey (DCS) initiative.

The AEOs explained that the DCS is difficult to manage. Each AEO is responsible for an entire cluster, which makes the task overwhelming. They have asked state agricultural officials to provide assistants at the village level to help with the workload. However, no action has been taken so far.

Instead of receiving help, AEOs are under increasing pressure to finish the DCS without the necessary support. Lokaraju, the president of the district AEO association, mentioned that similar protests took place in all mandals of the Jogulamba Gadwal district.
