The TBJP is looking forward to the visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who is also a master strategist for the BJP. The party has been feeling down since losing the Karnataka Assembly elections last month. Shah will be in Hyderabad on June 15th and will speak at a public meeting in Khammam. The BJP plans to have at least 100,000 people attend the meeting.
This meeting is expected to boost the morale of the party after the defeat in Karnataka and prepare them for the Telangana Assembly polls in November-December. Shah’s visit also comes during internal conflict within the BJP. Some leaders are asking for a change in state leadership and the party has failed to get former MP Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and former minister Jupally Krishna Rao to join them. Both of these leaders were recently suspended by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for anti-party activities. Srinivasa Reddy is from Khammam district and is said to be considering joining Congress.
