Aroma Singh Thakur takes on role as Chief Security Commissioner for SCR

Aroma Singh Thakur has taken over as Inspector General – cum – Principal Chief Security Commissioner (IG-cum-PCSC) of South Central Railway. She assumed the position on Monday at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.

According to officials from South Central Railway, Thakur began her career as Assistant Security Commissioner in the Howrah-I Division of Eastern Railway. She later served as Divisional Security Commissioner in Jaipur. During her time on deputation, she worked as a Professor of Law Management at Railway Staff College, Vadodara. One of her notable achievements was designing a course called “Crime on Railways,” which brought together officers from Railways, GRP, RPF, and local police to interact and understand the complexities of the Indian Railways.

Thakur has been recognized for her service with several awards, including the Indian Police Medal for Meritorious Service and the Director General’s Insignia three times in 2005, 2015, and 2023. She has also received the General Manager’s Medal and Merit Certificate.
