Karimnagar: On Wednesday, Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar initiated a program to hand out 20,000 bicycles, which he personally bought, to Class 10 students. The first set of bicycles was given to students in government schools in Karimnagar town. Bandi Sanjay mentioned that he was inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, known for his dedication to the people, to assist society and emulate his efforts.
He shared that the idea to distribute bicycles came from District Collector Pamela Satpathy. She suggested giving bicycles to girls as part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative. The Union Minister approached corporate companies to contribute through their CSR funds. They agreed and provided the necessary funds, allowing him to purchase and distribute the bicycles.
Bandi Sanjay spoke to the students, recounting his own experience growing up in poverty in Kapuwada. He explained that his parents worked hard to ensure his education. Understanding the challenges faced by students, he decided to distribute bicycles to them.
He also announced plans to distribute ‘Modi Kits’ soon. Bandi Sanjay assured that every year, as long as he remains an MP, he would continue to provide bicycles to all Class 10 students and distribute Modi Kits.
Teacher MLC Malka Komaraiah praised the bicycle distribution scheme, calling it a model for others. Inspired by this initiative, other leaders are also considering distributing bicycles to students nationwide.
