Khammam: The Khammam District BC Welfare Association celebrated the 71st birthday of R Krishnaiah, a senior Backward Classes leader and Rajya Sabha MP, at their district office on Saturday.
Dr. Gongura Venkateshwarlu, a notable BC leader, praised Krishnaiah for being a strong advocate for BC rights for the past 45 years. He urged the community to support Krishnaiah’s ongoing demand for 50% political reservations for BCs in legislative bodies. According to him, BCs will not achieve true justice without proper representation in law-making institutions.
Dr. Venkateshwarlu emphasized that the fight must persist until a Bill ensuring political reservations is passed in Parliament. He believes that only then will BCs gain real empowerment in education, employment, and governance. He made these remarks after cutting a cake to celebrate the occasion.
Association President Pindiprolu Ramamurthy highlighted the importance of reservation in promotions for OBC government employees. He expressed full support for Krishnaiah’s efforts in the Rajya Sabha on this matter.
“Khammam strongly backs Krishnaiah garu’s mission to bring significant changes for the backward classes,” he stated.
