Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu emphasized the State Government’s dedication to the well-being of women in the police force. He confirmed their willingness to act on suggestions from the recent three-day conference aimed at improving conditions for female staff.
The Deputy CM highlighted the importance of equality, noting there is no gender bias during recruitment, so duties should also be free of discrimination. He supported the idea of removing “women” from “women police,” agreeing it reflects fairness.
He acknowledged women police officers’ specific needs, like uniforms, as valid. He urged the quick formation of a committee to study these needs and promised government action based on their findings.
The Deputy CM stressed that government goals should align with both public and employee needs. He mentioned that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the Cabinet are focusing on humane governance, understanding that meeting employee needs can positively impact citizens’ lives.
He remarked that maintaining law and order is crucial for state development and attracting investments. The committed work of police officers has allowed numerous events and festivals to proceed safely, with Telangana ranking first in peace and security.
The Deputy CM encouraged police to propose solutions for both personal and departmental issues, including infrastructure like office buildings and staff accommodations.
In education, he shared that the government is investing in schools with international standards, allocating Rs 200 crore each on 25 acres of land. Currently, 104 schools are under construction across the state.
He also mentioned the establishment of Young India, an institution dedicated to educating police personnel’s children, with plans for further development.
