Gadwal, Aija Mandal – Today, at a press conference, Gopalakrishna, the BJP Mandal President, criticized private schools for exploiting parents. He claimed these schools charge high fees without providing basic facilities.
Gopalakrishna raised concerns about student safety and regulatory negligence. He noted that many school buses are in poor condition and still operate in villages. “These buses are unsafe,” he said. “Drivers often talk on phones and play loud music, ignoring children’s safety during boarding and exiting.”
He warned that this negligence could lead to accidents, similar to past incidents in the district. He accused authorities of ignoring these serious issues, risking children’s lives.
He also criticized private schools for selling uniforms themselves and questioned whether they are sourced from authorized vendors or regular stores. He called for an investigation into this matter.
Referring to the Right to Education (RTE) Act, Gopalakrishna stressed that private schools should provide necessary facilities, reasonable fees, and ensure safety. “Playgrounds and safety measures are essential for children’s growth,” he stated.
He demanded that school buses have proper doors, windows, and protective grills for safety. He urged education department officials to inspect schools and take action against those violating norms.
Gopalakrishna warned that if officials do not act, the BJP will organize large protests across the district soon.
The press conference was also attended by key party leaders including Medikonda Bhim Sen Rao of the BJP Kisan Morcha, Laxman Goud, Vice-President of Aija Town BJP, Mahesh from Venkatapuram, and others like Medikonda Bhuth President Sriramulu, Paramesh, and Ramulu. They all demanded urgent action to ensure children’s safety and uphold their rights.
