Gadwal: Led by Kampati Bhagat Reddy, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President in Ayija Town, party leaders and locals checked the main road conditions in Ayija, located in the Jogulamba Gadwal district.

Bhagat Reddy highlighted a major safety issue. A series of electric poles stand dangerously in the middle of the road. These poles stretch from the Ayyappa Swamy Temple to the Kurnool–Raichur highway junction near Apollo Pharmacy, covering almost 2 kilometers. There are about 20 to 30 poles causing risks for both drivers and pedestrians.

He questioned the Telangana government and the Electricity Department’s lack of action, asking why they ignore such visible hazards. He warned that these poles could cause severe accidents. In case of any tragedies, he asked, “Who will take responsibility for any injuries or deaths?”

Previously, BJP district leaders met with the Superintendent Engineer (SE) of TSSPDCL on March 1, 2025, to discuss the problem, but nothing has changed, Reddy noted.

He urged for the immediate removal of these poles and warned of protests and road blockades if the government does not act quickly. Bhagat Reddy criticized the authorities for not addressing basic infrastructure issues, insisting that roads should be widened and the poles removed promptly.

Other BJP leaders joined the cause, including Laxman Goud, Obul Reddy, B. Venkatesh, K. Rajashekar, Raju, and Ashok. They emphasized public safety and called on authorities to act before any further steps are necessary.
