Chief Minister Revanth Reddy participated in the Police Commemoration Parade held at Gosha Mahal in Hyderabad. This event was part of the Police Martyrs’ Commemoration Day. He unveiled a new memorial to honor police officers who have died in service.
Reddy highlighted the crucial role police play in society, noting their dedication despite risks. He acknowledged that while officers face danger, many have given their lives to protect others. The Chief Minister stressed the importance of remembering these sacrifices, especially on October 21, a day observed nationwide.
He paid tribute to several officers, including Greyhounds commandos T. Sandeep, V. Sridhar, and N. Pawan Kalyan, who died fighting anti-social elements, and also honored Assistant Commandant Banothu Jawaharlal and Constable B. Saidu.
Reflecting on a recent tragedy, Reddy pledged support to the family of CCS Constable Empalli Pramod Kumar, who died in Nizamabad three days earlier. The family will receive ₹1 crore in compensation, his salary until retirement, a government job for a family member, and 300 square yards of land. Additionally, ₹16 lakhs will come from the Police Security Welfare fund, with another ₹8 lakhs from the Police Welfare fund.
Reddy also announced that a 200-yard plot in Gajularamaram will be given to the families of 33 policemen killed in a Maoist attack in Orissa on June 29, 2008. He praised the Telangana Police Department for its effective strategies and use of modern technology, which led to its top ranking in the India Justice Report 2025. The department was also recognized by the Ministry of External Affairs for its efficient passport verification. Reddy expressed confidence that the Telangana Police will continue to excel in ensuring public safety and peace.
