Hyderabad: Locals in Hyderabad have lodged several complaints against Goshamahal MLA T Raja Singh for his alleged derogatory comments about Prophet Mohammed. These remarks were supposedly made during a recent Dasara event in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, in the context of the ongoing nationwide ‘I Love Mohammed’ protest campaign.
On Monday, Mohd Murtuza Ali, a former AIMIM corporator from the Chawni Division, along with other community representatives, filed a complaint at the Madannapet Police Station. They requested authorities to take firm legal action against the MLA, highlighting that his comments have deeply offended the Muslim community.
Inspector J Sreenu of the Madannapet station received the complaint and assured that necessary legal measures would be taken according to the law.
Residents also filed a complaint at the Hussainialam police station, accusing Raja Singh of making inappropriate remarks about the Prophet. The residents demanded strict legal action, describing the comments as offensive and hurtful to the community’s religious sentiments.
Community members have called for calm during the investigation, urging everyone to maintain peace.
Earlier, on Sunday, a criminal case was registered against Raja Singh at the Shalibanda police station. P Mahesh Goud, the station house officer, stated that the case was filed based on a complaint that the MLA made derogatory remarks against a prominent community leader and shared them on social media. Legal advice is being sought for further investigation before any action is taken.
The case involves sections 196(2), 197, 221, 299, 352, 353(2), and 61 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with sections 61 and 67 of the IT Act against the MLA.
