Maganti Sunitha, the BRS candidate for Jubilee Hills by-election, made serious accusations against Congress party leaders on Tuesday. She claimed they were hiding cash inside biryani packets to buy votes from local residents.
Sunitha warned voters that choosing anyone other than BRS could bring chaos and lawlessness to their area. She spoke directly to reporters about what she called unfair election practices.
The candidate said Congress workers were threatening people throughout the constituency. According to her, they told voters they wouldn’t be allowed to move freely if they didn’t support Congress.
“About 100 people from Congress follow me everywhere I go,” Sunitha explained. She questioned whether this was proper treatment for a woman candidate.
She pointed out that known troublemakers were moving around the constituency freely. Sunitha called on police to step in and take action against these activities.
The BRS leader specifically criticized the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu and Government Whip Beerla Ailaiah in the area. She questioned why Congress MLAs and MLCs had been staying in the constituency since the day before.
Sunitha said Congress workers were trying to intimidate her and other people in Jubilee Hills. She wondered how many more people they planned to frighten.
The candidate called this level of violence unusual for local elections. She urged the Election Commission to look into Congress party activities in the constituency.
Sunitha encouraged all eligible voters to come out and cast their ballots despite the intimidation tactics she described.
