Hyderabad: Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, accused the Congress and BRS of a secret deal to cover each other’s corruption. He claimed they agreed to protect each other’s wrongdoings to avoid consequences. Bandi Sanjay, while celebrating Raksha Bandhan with supporters, stated that the Congress-led government in Telangana has failed to act against K. Chandrashekar Rao’s family despite evidence of corruption during the BRS’s decade-long rule. He believes Congress’s own interests prevent them from pursuing accountability.

Public trust in the Congress government is waning due to its inaction on corruption. Bandi Sanjay mentioned that important reports like the Power Procurement Commission report and those on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP) have not been discussed or made public. This secrecy, he argues, suggests evidence is being hidden, leaving the public unaware of the true extent of corruption.

Bandi Sanjay, a former State BJP chief, expressed distrust in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the phone tapping scandal. He argued that the SIT lacks the authority to question high-profile figures, suggesting only central agencies like the CBI and ED could conduct a thorough investigation. He warned that without their involvement, those responsible might escape justice.

The phone tapping scandal allegedly involves many targets, including politicians and judges, used for blackmail. Bandi Sanjay challenged BRS leaders K.T. Rama Rao and T Harish Rao to publicly swear their innocence at a religious site. He also demanded an investigation into KCR’s daughter, Kavitha.

He criticized the appointment of Prabhakar Rao as head of the Special Intelligence Branch (SIB), claiming it violated norms and accusing the previous government of keeping surveillance records beyond legal limits to hide misconduct.

Bandi Sanjay urged BRS MLAs to leave their party, citing misuse of the SIB for personal gain. He emphasized the need for a CBI inquiry, as central agencies have the necessary powers to investigate cross-jurisdictional corruption in India.

Despite facing legal notices from K.T. Rama Rao, Bandi Sanjay dismissed them as political intimidation tactics, not genuine attempts to reveal the truth.
