Hyderabad‘s Tank Bund became a lively hub of devotion as the second day of Ganesh idol immersion attracted large crowds, turning the area into a colorful celebration.
The roads near Tank Bund were packed with traffic and processions. Enthusiastic devotees gathered to say goodbye to their beloved deity. Many stood by the streets, watching the idols pass by, while families and young people walked alongside trucks carrying idols from various neighborhoods across the city. Watching the grand idols move against the city skyline was both touching and joyous.
Drum beats, devotional songs, and cheers filled the air as cranes gently lowered the idols into the lake. The sunlit water gradually filled with hundreds of idols, a testament to the devotion of millions over the past days. The large crowd turned the immersion into a cultural event that resonated throughout the city. To handle the crowd, police ensured security, and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) worked hard to keep the event orderly, combining celebration with discipline.
The immersion continued throughout the day, with a steady stream of idols heading to the lake. Each idol’s farewell was marked by cheers, songs, and prayers for Lord Ganesha’s return next year. For Hyderabad, the immersion at Tank Bund was more than a ritual; it was a shared experience of devotion, order, and celebration.
