Enforcement Directorate officials took BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha into custody in the Delhi Liquor case on Friday. A team of 12 officials from ED and IT conducted searches at Kavitha’s residence, where they served her with notices before taking her into custody. This development occurred just before the announcement of the election schedule, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Draupadi Murmu were in the State.
The searches at Kavitha’s residence were led by four teams supervised by the ED Joint director. They also searched the residence of Kavitha’s husband Anil and other locations related to the case. The ED officials confiscated two of Kavitha’s mobile phones during questioning and recorded her statement as part of their investigation.
