Hyderabad: The Green India Challenge (GIC), led by former Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar, teamed up with Telugu actor-producer Nara Rohith to introduce eco-friendly Seed Ganesha idols. This initiative supports both tradition and environmental care, coinciding with the promotion of the new movie Sundarakanda.
At the Swarna Giri Temple, Santosh Kumar shared these idols with devotees and temple staff, wishing the movie success. With Ganesh Chaturthi approaching, 5,000 Seed Ganesha idols will be given away for free to children, families, and visitors.
The event encourages participation from companies, community leaders, and the public in this green celebration. Made from natural clay, cocopeat, and coco powder, the idols contain seeds from native trees like neem and tamarind. Once the rituals are complete, the idols can be planted in soil, allowing them to grow into saplings for homes, parks, and public areas, fostering a greener environment.
