Flood levels in the Godavari River are decreasing, prompting officials to lift the second danger warning at Dhavaleswaram. However, the first warning is still active. The water level here is 13.3 feet. Authorities are diverting 12,600 cusecs to delta canals, while about 12.13 lakh cusecs continue to flow into the sea.
In Srisailam, flood conditions are also easing. Water inflows from the Jurala and Sunkesula projects have reduced. Currently, Srisailam receives 473,076 cusecs, with an outflow of 511,124 cusecs. Specific releases include 30,000 cusecs from the Pothireddypadu head regulator, 35,315 cusecs from the left bank power station, and 26,019 cusecs from the right bank power station. Ten spillway gates have been raised by 18 feet, allowing 419,790 cusecs of water to be released.
The Srisailam project’s full water level is 885 feet, with the present level at 881.80 feet. In terms of capacity, the project can store up to 215.80 TMC, and currently holds 197.91 TMC of water.
