Government schools to start breakfast program next academic year: CM

The Hyderabad state government plans to offer milk, breakfast, and lunch to students in government schools starting in the 2026 academic year.

During a major meeting, the Chief Minister stressed the need to upgrade government schools to match the standards of private institutions.

He stated that improving education for disadvantaged students is a priority, and better facilities are essential. The initial focus will be on the core urban area within the Outer Ring Road.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to ensure all schools have playgrounds and sufficient classrooms.

He tasked the Education Department with finding suitable locations for these improvements. A pilot project will begin for students from nursery to Class 4.
