Jogulamba Gadwal, July 11, 2025 – A key meeting took place at the District Medical and Health Department office. Medical Officers and Multi-Purpose Health Assistants (Male) from all local Primary Health Centres (PHCs) attended. Dr. S. K. Siddappa, the District Medical and Health Officer, along with Program Officer Dr. Prasoon Rani Meda, led the session.
The officials assessed current and future health projects in each PHC area. They discussed strategies for villages, focusing on preventing diseases like malaria, dengue, and chikungunya, which increase during the rainy season. Health workers were told to boost Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) activities. The goal is to help villagers recognize symptoms, take precautions, and get medical help quickly.
In line with World Population Day, Dr. Siddappa announced a district-wide campaign from July 11 to July 18, 2025. The campaign aims to inform people about family planning and scientific sterilization. This effort seeks to guide residents in making informed reproductive choices and reduce unplanned pregnancies.
Dr. Siddappa stressed community involvement and effective health outreach at the grassroots level. He instructed the MPHA(M) staff to coordinate with ASHA workers and ANMs for better health education delivery in rural areas. He highlighted the importance of preventing seasonal diseases and educating about reproductive health to improve family welfare and lessen public health challenges.
Dr. Prasoon Rani Meda urged for better field surveillance, tracking fever cases, and ensuring all PHCs have enough medical supplies, diagnostic kits, and mosquito repellents.
This initiative showcases the district health department’s dedication to proactive public health management and awareness-driven actions at the village level.
