Hyderabad is tackling traffic and pedestrian challenges by building six new skywalks in Greater Hyderabad. These skywalks aim to make it easier and safer for people to cross busy roads, reducing accidents in crowded areas.

The Telangana government has directed the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to develop detailed plans for skywalks at Afzalgunj, Madina, Lakdikapul petrol pump, BHEL, JNTU, and Miyapur T-junction. These spots are known for heavy traffic and frequent accidents, making it crucial to provide a safe crossing option for pedestrians.

The Uppal skywalk is already operational and has successfully reduced congestion. The Mehdipatnam skywalk construction is progressing well, and a major project at Secunderabad will soon link the railway, metro, and bus stations, offering great convenience for travelers.
