Hyderabad: An Air India Express flight scheduled to go from Hyderabad to Phuket had to return shortly after takeoff on Saturday due to a technical problem, according to sources at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.
The Boeing 737 Max 8 with 98 passengers onboard landed safely back at 6:57 am. An Air India Express spokesperson stated that the decision to return was made as a precautionary measure.
A different plane was provided for the journey, and the flight eventually departed. During the wait, passengers received refreshments. The airline expressed regret for the delay and emphasized that safety is their highest priority.
According to flightradar24.com, the flight initially took off at 6:40 am and landed back shortly after. It successfully departed for Phuket, Thailand, at 1:26 pm.
