On the morning of March 15th, 2021, Congress workers in Hyderabad surrounded the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in protest of Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha. The protest, which was led by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President A. Revanth Reddy, saw a large number of Congress workers gathering outside the BJP office in the city.

The reason for the protest was the recent decision by the Lok Sabha Speaker, Om Birla, to disqualify Rahul Gandhi from the lower house of parliament. Rahul Gandhi, who is the Member of Parliament (MP) from Wayanad in Kerala, was disqualified for failing to declare his citizenship status while filing his nomination papers for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The decision to disqualify Rahul Gandhi has been met with widespread criticism from the opposition parties, including the Congress. The Congress has accused the BJP of using the disqualification as a political tool to target Rahul Gandhi and undermine the opposition.

The protest in Hyderabad is just one example of the growing discontent among Congress workers and supporters over Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification. The Congress has announced that it will hold protests across the country to demand justice for Rahul Gandhi and to highlight what it sees as the BJP’s anti-democratic actions.

The disqualification of Rahul Gandhi has also raised questions about the independence of the Lok Sabha Speaker and his role in enforcing election laws. The Congress has accused Om Birla of being biased towards the BJP and of using his position to target opposition leaders.

The BJP has defended the disqualification, saying that it was based on a legal technicality and that Rahul Gandhi had failed to comply with the election laws. The party has also accused the Congress of playing politics and trying to create a controversy out of a routine legal process.

The protest in Hyderabad is a sign of the growing political polarization in India and the increasing hostility between the ruling BJP and the opposition parties. It remains to be seen how the situation will unfold in the coming days, but it is clear that the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi has become a major political issue in the country.
