Hyderabad: The All-India Road Transport Workers’ Federation (AIRTWF) on Monday required that the government reverse the Motor Vehicles Act, 2019, as well as state that it will not be implemented in the State.
The AIRTWF, together with the State CITU, arranged a rally from the Khairatabad signal to the Commissioner’s workplace with a banner ‘Chalo Transport Commissioner’s Office’ requiring abolition of raised physical fitness charge as well as revival charge of Rs 50 a day.
CITU basic assistant P Bhaskar required the government to reverse theMotor Vehicles Act “The Central government has been increasing the price of fuel, LPG. With the fitness fees the government is playing with lives of workers.”
He advised the TRS government not to carry out the Motor Vehicle Amendment Act in the State as well as not to enforce the physical fitness charge, revival charge along with fines; otherwise the union lobbyists would certainly organize dharnas daily.
