KCR to Unveil Ambedkar Statue in Hyderabad on April 14th

The Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), is set to unveil a statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in Hyderabad on April 14th, 2021. The statue will be placed at the Tank Bund, a popular tourist spot in the city.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is widely regarded as the father of the Indian Constitution and is known for his contributions to the upliftment of the marginalized sections of society. He was a social reformer, economist, and politician who fought for the rights of Dalits and other oppressed communities.

The statue of Dr. Ambedkar is being installed in Hyderabad to commemorate his 130th birth anniversary. The Chief Minister has instructed officials to ensure that the statue is of the highest quality and that it is installed in a prominent location.

The unveiling ceremony is expected to be attended by several political leaders, including members of the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) party, as well as representatives from various Dalit organizations.

The installation of the statue is seen as a significant move by the TRS government to honor Dr. Ambedkar’s contributions to Indian society. The Chief Minister has previously spoken about his admiration for Dr. Ambedkar and has stated that his government is committed to working towards the upliftment of Dalits and other marginalized communities.

The decision to install the statue at the Tank Bund has not been without controversy, however. Some activists have argued that a more appropriate location would be at the Ambedkar Statue Park in the city’s outskirts, which already houses several statues and monuments dedicated to Dr. Ambedkar.

Despite these concerns, the installation of the statue at the Tank Bund is expected to be a major event in Hyderabad, with thousands of people expected to attend the unveiling ceremony. It will serve as a reminder of Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and his contributions to Indian society, and will hopefully inspire future generations to continue his work towards social justice and equality.
