The Municipal Administration Minister of Telangana, KT Rama Rao, announced on Monday that the Mana Nagaram programme, which addresses public grievances in town hall meetings, will soon be restarted. The programme, which was launched in 2018, was successful in resolving issues immediately. The Minister also stated that four more Construction and Demolition Plants (C&D) will be established in the city to process construction waste, in addition to the two plants currently operating in Fathullaguda and Jeedimetla. He encouraged builders to take advantage of these plants and explore the possibility of using C&D plants for cool roofing technologies.

Rama Rao further urged builders and officials to promote the Cardiovascular Resuscitation Programme (CPR) in residential complexes and involve residential welfare associations in the city in the programme. He also shared that Hyderabad has surpassed Bengaluru in terms of employment, with 1.50 lakh jobs generated in the IT sector as compared to 1.46 lakh in Bengaluru. Additionally, Hyderabad has the highest absorption of office space compared to Mumbai and Chennai.

The Minister recalled a conversation he had in 2013 with builders who claimed there was no demand for high-rise structures in the state. However, Rama Rao predicted that the city would start to grow exponentially within a year, and his prediction came true. He believes that this is just the beginning and that Hyderabad’s future is bright.
