After a gap of almost ten months a leopard was spotted on the Tirumala pedestrian route by the forest rangers of the Seshachalam forest.

On Friday, the 23rd of July 2021, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President, Jagat Prakash Nadda, visited the state of Telangana to inaugurate the party’s offices. The visit was aimed at strengthening the BJP’s presence in the state ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in 2023.

Nadda arrived in Hyderabad on Thursday evening and began his visit with a meeting with the party’s state leaders. He then proceeded to inaugurate the party’s new office in Hyderabad’s Banjara Hills area. The new office is spread over an area of 2,500 square feet and is equipped with modern facilities to cater to the needs of the party workers.

During his visit, Nadda also addressed a gathering of party workers and leaders at the party’s old office in Hyderabad’s Nampally area. In his address, he highlighted the BJP’s commitment to the development of Telangana and urged party workers to work towards strengthening the party’s presence in the state.

The BJP has been making efforts to expand its footprint in Telangana, which has been traditionally dominated by regional parties like the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM). The party had won just one seat in the 119-member Telangana assembly in the 2018 elections.

However, the BJP has been making steady gains in the state since then. In the recent Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections held in December 2020, the BJP emerged as the second-largest party, winning 48 seats out of 150.

The BJP’s growing influence in Telangana can be attributed to its focus on issues like development, governance, and corruption-free administration. The party has been highlighting the alleged corruption and mismanagement by the ruling TRS government, which has been in power since the formation of the state in 2014.

The BJP’s efforts to expand its base in Telangana have also been aided by the defection of several leaders from other parties. In June 2021, former TRS minister Eatala Rajender joined the BJP, giving a boost to the party’s prospects in the state.

Overall, Nadda’s visit to Telangana to inaugurate the party’s offices is an important step towards strengthening the BJP’s presence in the state. With the assembly elections just two years away, the BJP will be hoping to make further gains in Telangana and emerge as a strong contender for power in the state.
