The government is making changes to the roads around the new state Secretariat building before its inauguration on April 30. Vastu experts advised the government to make changes to the road alignment to meet their requirements. The Chief Minister wants a traffic-free channel to the Secretariat, so some roads have been closed and traffic diversions are being considered. The Telugu Talli and former President Neelam Sanjiva Reddy’s statues may be moved to make way for a new park in front of the Martyrs memorial. Some road-users are worried that the changes may cause more traffic and higher petrol consumption.
