    Secunderabad railway station is being upgraded quickly. The temporary booking office, RPF building, and an underground water tank with a 9.5 lakh litre capacity are being constructed. The temporary offices are being built after the Soil Investigation Work and Topographic Survey were completed. The temporary booking office’s foundation stones, columns, and shelter works are done, and flooring, plumbing, electrical and false ceiling works are in progress. The new temporary booking office should open in the last week of May. The work on the new RPF building is also progressing quickly.

    Excavation work and laying of PCC beds for an 11 lakh litres capacity underground water tank have been completed at Platform 10 and PRS building. Reinforcement bar binding work is ongoing. Offices in the Northside building are being shifted, with 60 percent of the utilities shifting already completed.

    Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of South Central Railway, says that the redevelopment of Secunderabad station will make it elegant and provide world-class amenities. The redeveloped station will meet the steadily increasing footfall and passenger demand for the next 40 years. The project costs nearly Rs 700 crore, and each stage is being monitored to ensure timely completion.
