The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) called for a thorough investigation into the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), focusing on its President A Jagan Mohan Rao, who is currently under arrest, and other Apex Council members. They also pointed to BRS leaders KT Rama Rao, Kavitha, and former HCA director Vanka Pratap as key figures in alleged corruption related to team selections and financial crimes over the past decade.
The TCA provided additional evidence to support the ongoing investigation into these criminal activities at HCA. They included two forensic audit reports based on recommendations from the Justice Anil Dave Committee in 2017 and the Justice L Nageshwar Rao Committee in 2023. These documents reveal consistent fraud, misuse of public funds, unethical team selections, and the exploitation of cricketers’ families in exchange for favors, neglecting infrastructure development, and harming players’ careers instead of promoting fair cricket in the state.
TCA officials accused KT Rama Rao and Kavitha of secretly controlling HCA operations. They alleged that IPL ticket sales were awarded to Raj Pakala’s companies, eventsnow.com and MeraEvent.com, who is related to KTR. They also claimed food service contracts during IPL matches went to Surabhi Caterers, linked to both Kavitha and KTR, as well as Jagan Mohan Rao. Travel and hotel arrangements were allegedly managed by the same group. Vanka Pratap was also criticized in a report by Justice NA Kakru to the Supreme Court for encouraging corruption in team selections and showing a fraudulent and arrogant attitude.
The TCA accused these individuals of being the main conspirators behind the corrupt administration, manipulation, and unauthorized fund withdrawals from HCA bank accounts. They urged for an investigation and necessary actions to ensure the growth and integrity of cricket in Telangana.
