Indian School of Business has launched a new scholarship program with support from Bharti Airtel Foundation. The partnership will help students access quality management education through financial assistance.
The Bharti Airtel Scholarship will support students in the Post Graduate Programme in Management for Young Leaders (PGP YL). This multi-year program represents a significant investment in higher education by the foundation.
Five students from each PGP YL batch will become Bharti Scholars. These selected students will receive financial support covering tuition fees, housing costs, and meal expenses. The scholarship combines both merit and financial need in its selection process.
A formal agreement was signed during a ceremony attended by key officials. Rakesh Bharti Mittal, who serves as Co-Chairman of Bharti Airtel Foundation and Vice Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, participated in the event. Professor Madan Pillutla, the Dean of Indian School of Business, and D N V Kumara Guru, Senior Director for Advancement and Alumni Relations at ISB, also attended.
Rakesh Bharti Mittal emphasized education’s role in creating progress. He highlighted the strong relationship between Bharti and ISB, calling it a natural partnership for expanding scholarship opportunities. The executive expressed pride in supporting talented individuals who will become future leaders and change-makers.
Professor Madan Pillutla thanked the foundation for its generous support. He noted that these scholarships will help deserving students access ISB’s educational programs and leadership development opportunities. The partnership demonstrates both organizations’ commitment to inclusive excellence and developing India’s next generation of leaders.
The Bharti Airtel Foundation has already made a substantial impact in education. Since starting operations, the foundation has supported more than 2,000 scholars, with 44 percent being female students. These efforts focus on creating educational opportunities for children from disadvantaged communities.
This new scholarship program reinforces ISB’s dedication to expanding financial aid options. The initiative ensures that talented students can access world-class management education regardless of their financial situation. Merit and potential, rather than economic barriers, will determine who receives this premium education.
