A comprehensive joint inspection was carried out at Masjid Alamgiri in Guttalabegumpet Village, Serilingampally Mandal, Rangareddy District to assess the ground situation of Waqf land and address concerns over illegal encroachment.
The inspection involved senior officials from multiple government departments including the Revenue Department, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Hyderabad Police, HYDRA, and the Telangana Waqf Board.
Sri Mohammed Azharuddin, Hon’ble Minister for Minorities Welfare Department and Public Entrepreneur, led the inspection alongside Sri Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Hon’ble Advisor to the Government of Telangana for SC, ST, OBC and Minorities, and Waqf Board Chairman Janab Azmath Ullah Hussaini Sahab.
During the inspection, officials were directed to take immediate and stringent legal action against those responsible for any encroachment on the Waqf property. The directive emphasized the need to ensure that the sanctity of mosque land is fully protected.
The government has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards illegal encroachment on Waqf land. This firm stance reflects the administration’s commitment to safeguarding religious properties and protecting the rights of the Waqf Board.
The joint inspection aimed to document the current status of the land, identify any unauthorized occupation or construction, and prepare a detailed report for further action. Officials surveyed the boundaries of the Waqf property and assessed any structures that may have been built without proper authorization.
The presence of multiple department heads during the inspection demonstrates the seriousness with which the state government is treating the matter of Waqf land protection. The coordinated effort between various agencies is expected to expedite the process of removing any illegal encroachments.
The Telangana Waqf Board has been facing challenges with unauthorized occupation of its properties across the state. This inspection is part of a broader initiative to reclaim and protect Waqf properties from encroachment.
Officials from the Revenue Department will now proceed with the legal formalities required to take action against encroachers, while GHMC and HYDRA will coordinate on any demolition activities if deemed necessary following due legal process.
