Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the working president of BRS, has pledged to give KCR Kits to 4,910 new mothers and their babies who delivered in government hospitals in Sircilla over the past 18 months. This initiative is part of his annual birthday campaign, ‘GiftASmile’.
Rama Rao shared on social media that the last five years of his birthday campaign have been personally rewarding. In 2020, recognizing the global challenges, he and his supporters donated 108 ambulances to government hospitals in the state. The following year, 2021, they provided over 1,400 custom-made tri-wheelers to differently-abled individuals.
Education was the focus in 2022. They distributed 6,000 Samsung tabs in Sircilla, boosting the number of students succeeding in exams like NEET/JEE. In 2023, they supported 116 talented children from the State Home, Yousufguda, with i5 Dell laptops and training assistance.
In 2024, the initiative addressed the rise in weaver suicides in Sircilla, focusing on aiding affected families. Rama Rao emphasized that this year he is concentrating on progress and hope. The KCR Kit, in his view, is a transformative initiative, symbolizing the gift of life.
Rama Rao expressed gratitude for the campaign’s growth from avoiding bouquets on birthdays to a cherished annual tradition, thanking everyone involved in ‘GiftASmile’.
