KTR Condemns Suspension of BRS MLA, Calls for Protests

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has strongly criticized the suspension of BRS MLA Jagadishwar Reddy from the Telangana Assembly. He called the action unfair and a threat to democracy.

To protest the suspension, KTR, along with BRS MLAs and MLCs, staged a demonstration in front of the Ambedkar statue. He accused the Congress government of suspending Reddy without valid reasons and claimed that false statements were attributed to him. KTR alleged that Congress was trying to silence the BRS because they feared the party would expose corruption related to contracts and funds being sent to Delhi.

KTR further claimed that Reddy was suspended as part of a political conspiracy. He explained that Reddy was highlighting misleading claims in the Governor’s address when Congress members tried to interrupt him. Despite maintaining his composure, KTR said, the government removed Reddy unfairly, as they could not counter his arguments. He also asserted that Reddy did not use any inappropriate language during his speech.

According to KTR, BRS leaders, following party chief KCR’s advice, had requested the Speaker and Legislative Affairs Minister to consult all parties before making a decision. They even expressed regret if the Speaker felt offended. However, the government ignored their request and suspended Reddy without seeking any explanation.

KTR also criticized the Congress government for putting chains around the 125-foot Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar statue, which was installed by the previous BRS government. He called it a shameful act.

In response to these events, KTR announced state-wide protests on Friday. He urged people across Telangana to participate in demonstrations and burn effigies of the government to protest what he called the Congress party’s undemocratic actions and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s authoritarian behavior.
