Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has introduced a new way for purchasing cotton using the Kapas Kisan mobile app. This announcement was made during the opening of the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) Cotton Purchase Centre in Husnabad, Siddipet district. With this system, farmers will receive specific dates to sell their cotton at ginning mills.
The current support price for cotton is Rs. 8,100. Minister Prabhakar also stated that rice and maize will be bought from farmers. Additionally, there’s a push to educate farmers about expanding into ice cream production, horticulture, and sericulture.
Minister Prabhakar also highlighted the need for quality education. In a video conference with officials, he discussed the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Gurukul schools and emphasized achieving 100% results in all schools. He promised to advance the Gauravelli project quickly to ensure sufficient water for crops.
