Hyderabad: The long-awaited Uppal Flyover, connecting Uppal Ring Road to Narapally in the east, is moving quickly, says Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy.

Recently, the Minister met Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to discuss the “Uppal Elevated Corridor” project. He urged city officials to speed up the work.

On Wednesday, Minister Reddy visited the site with Government Whip Bheerla Ilaiya and Uppal MLA Bandari Lakshma Reddy to check the progress.

The Minister told reporters that this project started nearly eight years ago on the Yadagirigutta–Bhuvanagiri–Warangal highway but faced delays due to financial and administrative issues. The current government has made it a priority. Discussions with Nitin Gadkari for central help have been initiated to fast-track the work.

To hasten the project, the state replaced the previous contractor with a more efficient one. “Construction is now moving faster with strict oversight,” Minister Komatireddy stated. He confirmed the government’s commitment to finish the flyover swiftly.

The Uppal Flyover will be the second-largest in Hyderabad, after the PV Narasimha Rao Expressway. The Minister promised it will be ready by Dussehra 2026, easing traffic in the city’s eastern areas.
