Several temples in Telangana have been neglected for years, with little effort from the government to develop them. BJP leader Yamuna Pathak believes there are around 200 temples in Hyderabad Lok Sabha constituency that are not being properly taken care of.

Out of these temples, only about 50 are currently functional with regular rituals being performed. The officials are hesitant to talk about these temples due to pressure, leaving the public unaware of their cultural and historical significance.

Most of these temples are dedicated to Gram Devatas or were founded by families before the 1820s. Residents have tried contacting the Endowments department for information on these temples, but have been told not to make it an issue.

The state Endowments and Archaeological departments have been accused of neglecting these temples and failing to involve experts in preserving and dating them. Efforts to revive some temples, like the Jai Hanuman Temple in Bahadurpura, have only been made after significant public pressure.
