Nagarjuna Sagar is experiencing a significant increase in water levels due to heavy inflows. The reservoir is almost full, leading officials to open 26 spillway gates to manage the water safely. Currently, 1,92,648 cusecs of water are being released.
The dam’s maximum level is 590 feet, and the water level is now at 589.30 feet. With a total capacity of 312.04 TMC, the reservoir currently holds 309.95 TMC. The incoming water flow is 1,74,533 cusecs, while the outflow has increased to 2,33,041 cusecs. Officials are keeping a close eye on the situation to handle the floodwaters effectively and ensure the safety of downstream areas.
