The BJP‘s “Har Ghar Tiranga” event brought excitement to Telangana despite challenges from the state’s Congress-led government.
N. Ramchander Rao, the BJP’s state president, led the march at Necklace Road and JNTU Kukatpally. Party members, students, and locals joined in, showing strong patriotic feelings.
At Necklace Road, Rao mentioned that while the event is mainly in BJP-ruled states, many in Telangana, especially students, are joining willingly. He shared plans to hoist the national flag at 40 lakh homes, symbolizing unity and pride.
Rao highlighted that this campaign, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is awakening patriotism across India. It honors India’s 79th Independence Day and the heroes who fought for freedom.
He criticized the Congress party, accusing them of supporting British and Pakistani interests during partition, which he claimed harmed India’s wealth. Rao called on everyone to protect India’s unity and culture.
The Hyderabad march went from Necklace Road to the B.R. Ambedkar statue near the Secretariat, while in Kukatpally, it moved from JNTU to the HUDA Truck Park. Despite the celebrations, Rao was reportedly put under house arrest on August 12 to stop his participation.
The campaign is gaining traction across Telangana, with many joining flag-hoisting and marches. It aims to boost national pride and unity.
As Independence Day nears, the yatra highlights the strong patriotic spirit in Telangana, crossing political lines and showing dedication to the country, Rao concluded.
