Baba Ramdev, a well-known yoga guru, recently organized the Sannyas Diksha Mahotsav in Haridwar, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah participated in a Havan ceremony with him. During the event, Shah also inaugurated the newly constructed building of Patanjali University. Speaking at the event, Shah expressed his delight at seeing ancient Indian knowledge being passed down to a new generation of sanyasis trained by Patanjali. He praised Baba Ramdev for his individual contributions to yoga, Ayurveda, and swadeshi, which he believes have surpassed those of any institution. Shah also commended Baba Ramdev’s close aide, Acharya Balkrishna, for his extensive research work in Ayurveda, which has resulted in over 500 published research papers.

Earlier in the day, Shah praised the central government’s New Education Policy for its emphasis on learning in the mother tongue and universal education based on the teachings of Indian visionaries such as Mahatma Gandhi and Dayanand Saraswati. Speaking at the 113th convocation of Gurukula Kangri, Shah credited the university for reviving vedic education in India and combining it with modern education. He paid tribute to the university’s founder, Swami Shraddhanand, for freeing India’s education system from British control and revitalizing the country’s vedic education system while prioritizing culture and modern education.

He congratulated Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health and Cooperative Minister Dhan Singh Rawat on this achievement and credited the separate cooperative ministry set up under the leadership of the prime minister for this success. Shah believes that computerizing cooperative platforms will increase transparency and fiscal discipline. As Union cooperative minister, he stressed the importance of this achievement.
