On Saturday morning, Delhi and the surrounding areas experienced thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. This caused power outages and delayed trains, with one train being pushed back by more than three hours. Additionally, six Delhi-bound flights were diverted to Jaipur to ensure safe travel. The India Meteorological Department tweeted that the stormy weather was likely to continue for the next few hours. As a result of the downpour, there was significant waterlogging in many areas of Delhi.

Earlier in the morning, the IMD predicted that thunderstorms and duststorms with light to moderate intensity rain and gusty winds would occur over and adjoining areas of Delhi, NCR, Haryana, Chandigarh, West UP, south Uttarakhand, and other regions. These areas included several cities and towns in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
