    Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, is visiting Tamil Nadu on Saturday to meet with party workers and industrialists. He will first meet with industrialists in Chennai, then with party leaders from the Chennai South Lok Sabha constituency at a marriage hall in Kovilambakkam. The purpose of his visit is to activate the BJP’s grass-roots workers in preparation for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

    The BJP will be contesting the Lok Sabha elections in alliance with the AIADMK and hopes to win 11 seats, including Chennai South, The Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Vellore, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, and a few other seats. AIADMK General Secretary and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami will also meet with Shah in Chennai.

    On Sunday, Shah will leave for Vellore in a chopper to attend a public rally.
