Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the people of Karnataka on Wednesday, urging them to say “Jai Bajrangbali” when they vote to show their disapproval of the Congress’ “culture of abuse.” This comes after the Congress promised to ban the Bajrang Dal in their election manifesto. The BJP has been attacking the opposition party for this promise, while the Congress has defended their stance, saying that the Constitution requires action against anyone spreading hatred or enmity.

Modi accused the Congress of hating and abusing him because he has disrupted their “corrupt system.” He asked the people of Karnataka if they will accept this “culture of abuse” and urged them to punish the Congress by saying “Jai Bajrangbali” when they press the voting button. He also encouraged his audience to chant “Bajrangbali ki Jai,” along with his usual slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”

Modi had criticized the Congress on Tuesday for their promise to ban the Bajrang Dal, saying that they want to “lock up Lord Hanuman.” He continued to emphasize his support for Lord Hanuman during his speeches on Wednesday in Mulki, Ankola, and Bailhongal. The BJP also tweeted with the hashtag “HanumaBhaktaModi,” while calling the Congress’ move an “insult” to Lord Hanuman and a form of appeasement.
