Shivakumar, the chief of Karnataka’s Congress, who accused him of favouring the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Shivakumar also criticized Sood for filing cases against Congress leaders while not doing so against BJP leaders.

Sood became an IPS officer at the age of 22 and has held various positions in his career. He’s received several medals and honours for his service, including the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in 2011. He’s married to Vinita Sood, a social entrepreneur, and they have two daughters. One of their daughters, Ashita Sood, married cricketer Mayank Agarwal in 2022.
