Hyderabad lit up on Sunday evening with a dazzling drone show that wowed the participants of the 72nd Miss World pageant. The event took place at the Dr BR Ambedkar Secretariat, where the international contestants gathered to witness a unique celebration of Telangana's achievements.
The Miss World delegates, including Miss India Nandini Gupta, arrived at the venue around 6 PM. They paid tribute to the iconic Telangana Thalli statue by showering it with flower petals while the regional anthem ‘Jaya Jaya He Telangana’ played in the background. Many of the contestants captured the moment with selfies and group photos.
Before the celebrations began, the group observed a moment of silence to honor the 17 victims who tragically lost their lives in a fire accident at Gulzar Houz earlier that morning.
The highlight of the evening was an impressive drone display in the night sky. The show featured glowing images of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Telangana Skill University, and key public welfare schemes under the ‘Praja Palana’ initiative. The visuals included representations of affordable gas cylinders at Rs 500 and the Revanth Anna Sanna Biyam rice distribution program.
Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao welcomed the guests warmly. He described Telangana as a state full of energy, youthful ambition, and rapid progress. “You are not just pageant contestants,” he told them, “you are global ambassadors. Take back with you not only memories of this evening but also a part of Telangana’s culture and spirit.”
He encouraged the visitors to share their experiences and promote Telangana’s tourism, cuisine, and heritage in their home countries.
Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao also addressed the gathering. He emphasized that the event was a perfect opportunity to showcase Telangana’s rich history, vibrant culture, and scenic tourist spots. Rao noted that many contestants had already toured famous landmarks like the Charminar, Lad Bazar, and local temples, expressing joy at their experiences.
He added that the participants had engaged enthusiastically with the local community and appreciated the warm hospitality.
As the night ended, Telangana had successfully left a lasting impression on the global stage, blending tradition with innovation and offering the world a glimpse of its heart and soul.
