Hyderabad police have arrested a man for pulling down the Israeli national flag displayed at Tank Bund during preparations for the upcoming Miss World 2025 pageant.
A video of the man tearing the flag off its pole quickly spread across social media, sparking outrage. Many users condemned the act, calling it disrespectful and demanding strict action.
The incident prompted a swift response from authorities. The Saifabad Police took immediate action and filed two separate cases related to the incident.
In an update shared on X (formerly Twitter), Hyderabad City Police confirmed the arrest. They stated that the Station House Officer (SHO) at Saifabad registered cases under Crime Numbers 138/2025 and 141/2025.
Police officials added that a detailed investigation is currently in progress to gather more information about the incident.
The flag was part of an international display set up as Hyderabad prepares to host the Miss World 2025 event, showcasing flags of participating nations at prominent locations across the city.
